Frequently Asked Questions
How is the water heated ?
The heat dissipated by the motor heats the water up to 40° C. The
desired temperature is controlled by the electronic thermostat. The
motor is cooled and a separate heater is not required. Heat loss is
kept to a minimum thanks to the excellent insulation of the tub,
resulting in low electric power consumption.
What is the Softub spa made of ?
It consists of 25 (5mm thick) sheets of polypropylene foam which are
hot-welded together. The outer covering is LeatherTex – a plastic
foil material used in boat building.
How much does it cost to operate ?
Softub's are very easy on the wallet. With the water at a constant
temperature of 40° C and 2 bathing sessions a day, the electric
power costs per model, per day are approximately as follows:
Sportster €0.22; Legend €0.40; Resort €0.60.
How is water run into and drained out of the spa ?
The spa is filled with a normal hosepipe. If a hot water connection
is available, you can enjoy the hot tub immediately. The water is
drained by a simple immersion pump. Or if the surface beneath the
spa is suitable, simply disconnect the motor and spa to drain the
water.
How long does the water remain in the Softub spa ?
With the right maintenance, you only need to change the water every
2-3 months.
How do I treat the water ?
Very little maintenance is required thanks to the ozone system. A pH
value of 7.2 – 7.6 is required to maintain excellent water quality.
To keep the water sanitary we recommend adding chlorine or active
oxygen once or twice a week. Every time you change the water, simply rinse out the
cartridge filter inside the spa briefly.
How long is the guarantee ?
Subject to proper use, a full two-year guarantee is given on the spa
and motor.
Can I use salt water in my Softub ?
No. Softub's are not designed for salt water, the use of which would
void your warranty and could cause permanent damage.
